CANFORGEN on Military Service Pay released

Colour me a bit bitter that the clock fully resets if you spent time on the Supp Res; I have 27 years of service, 24 pensionable at the moment and with this calculation I fall into the 11-15 year period because of 10 months on the Supp Res, and I'm still trying to figure out why a Class A reservist who shows up 14 days a year will get the same as a Class B reservist.

Don't think I'm saying that I think Class B & Reg Force should get the same (because they shouldn't); I just don't get why someone showing up enough not to go NES should get the same as the MWO who is working for me year round.

I liked the 13% pay raise, but this doesn't seem like a benefit for reservists, at least not the full time reservists.

I really think this should have been a percentage, with a higher percentage for Reg Force vs Reserve and based on total time, not just continuous. That way you incentivize both staying in and coming back, advancement, and active participation for reservists. Something like 1% for each level, and a smaller percentage of that for reservists. Still, I'll happily take whatever extra money they want to give me.

Because both of those members get the same CD as a RegF member who spends 24/7/365 on call? Its the easiest way to do the math and quite honestly the whole goal is to incentivize real full time service to fill up the RegF slots.
 
They could easily have tied it to days of pensionable service, the same that VAC uses to calculate the Education and Training Benefit. That has the effect of ‘squeezing the air bubbles out’ of broken or Class A service.
