Commissioning Plan - Current Trade is Red

Hey,

Just wanted to check to see if someone had info on the commissioning plans:

My issue is I am currently in the process to commission from an Reg NCO to Reg Officer. I've made it very far through the Pilot process, completing the Air Crew Selection Course (which typically has a ~30% pass rate) for all three trades, Pilot, ACSO and AEC. I've passed all the medical. I'm currently fairly far in my career as an enlisted rank wise. I've already completed a degree which I paid for on my own dime.

Sounds good, however my issue is my current trade and sub-trade (there's sub-occs in my current trade, which is about as far as I can detail without outing myself in a small community) is red. Well the trade is green I believe, but my sub-occ is red. That said, I can reasonably expect I will have to commission at some point in my career due given my career progression in the enlisted ranks so far, and how long I intend to stay in the military.

My question is, does my career manager have a say on whether I can commission through this plan, especially given the difficulty with the process I've already managed to get through? I know that they are able to stop releases before the normal 6 month wait for CEs and they can stop VOT, but does he have a say in the commissioning plans?

I'd hate to have what could be a dream career that I feel I'm well suited to and have worked hard towards, be torpedoed because they want one more number on the MES sheet.

I've searched the best I could through the forum search and have come up empty. Any enlightenment anyone can provide will be appreciated.

This is a question best suited for your local BPSO who you should be already engaged with.  They will have the answer for this. What entry plan are you doing? CFR or SCP (you hint at being a senior NCO, and indicated also having a degree - the two entry plans have different file handling procedures after the PSO interview)

When applying for a commissioning program the status of your occupation has no relevance.  Specifically, your CM cannot stop your applying or being commissioned should you meet all the criteria and your file is selected.

Cheers
