Continental Defence Corvette

And here's as fine a bit of Irish as I have had the good pleasure of seeing in a while....

Slainte mhor, micks.

I am sure the Royal Navy appreciates the privilege.
Wow, surprised that they didn’t ask the PLO or Hamas to patrol their waters for them…..

Edit- saying this a bit tongue in cheek, but just a bit.

The Irish are a decidely non-expeditionary navy. They work even closer to home than our Coast Guard.

We used to do exchanges with them, and Halifax has has visits from Irish Naval Vessels.

Yes they generally have a more domestic tasking; but they have deployed to the Mediterranean.

The Irish will hopefully, bring back these exchanges, and bring adequate supplies of libations....

I knew a young officer who went over for 6 - 8 months and loved it. She said their sailing is tough though, small ships and rough seas.

Anyone who has sailed around Ireland knows it can be a rough patch of water.

For scale this about the largest ship in the Irish navy. I walked by this on the way to the office a couple of times this past week, it is not large.

That ship is there strictly to keep the locals and tourists in line when they find out that a pint of the black now runs them close to 12 Euro in Temple Bar.

Your problem is you went to Temple Bar. Follow me to Tallaght or Bray! Now that's a time.
