I truly hope that we don’t reinvent our Navy from 1996 here in 2036 with 3 Rivers, 12 of these ‘CDC’s’, 2 JSS and new Type 212CD’s.

maybe we dont end up with 15 RCD and only 12 as replacements for the Halifax? Short production runs arent great. I doubt the RCN or Irving will be in favour of moving off the RCD

But, why would we?

It is basically the same capability as a RCD with most of the same gear.

Why would we completely change gears?

New commander, new direction, round tradition.

the level at which the Germans commit to spending money in Canada will govern the number of 212CD you get. They have made a huge initial commitment, if we try to renege on it we will definitely be assigned seats at the back of the bus if they even allow us to board in the first place.
