cool paint job

I actually had a passing thought about doing that to my jeep...  and my motorcycle....

This reminds me of when I was doing a co-op placement at Darlington Nuclear Powerplant's security back when I was in College.  I clocked a tree going 80 Km/h...  turns out I was holding the radar gun too low and it was picking up the fan from the truck heater...

Kind of reminds me of the Call of Duty jeep! I'm such a nerd. Only differences I see in the jeep, is that it has a game logo on it.  Phew... my Iltis was way cooler with the "automatic pop-off doors on impact" design.

Just outta curiosity, does anyone have any idea how you would go about doing a paint job like that ?
In my very limited experience with automotive painting, it looks like it'd be a real b***ch to do.

My guess is olive drab base coat first, then using some cut out shapes of the patterns, overlay that and spray a different colour on top.

You could also do it the same way they do gun stocks with the realtree camo, or specialty decals on snowboards, etc.

I'm not totally sure how the process works, but a water soluble decal is submerged in water or some liquid bath, then the object you want to apply the pattern to is dipped into the solution and then removed to dry.
