Anyone know what the rules are for selling deactivated smgs? I have a friend who has a deactivated Sten. Has and expired PAL. Can he sell it with an expired PAL or does he not need a PAL anyway? Does the smg need to be checked before sale?
He also has a Lee Enfield for sale as well. Can he sell it with an expired PAL?

Deactivated firearms are able to be sold without a license. My understanding is older deactivations (mainly cock and click) bring more money than more recent deactivations done under modern standards.

As to the Lee Enfield I suspect that he would have to call the firearms program as you now need to do the license verification before selling and part of that is the license of the seller. Before that law change it was just sell to a licensed individual or store. Now there might be more steps.

That being said, the goal is to keep firearms in licensed hands so I am sure they will have no issue working with him.
