DEC and Taxes

I was accepted for DEC in December. So I have been told that I can apply for Disability CPP and taxation. I have looked at the paperwork and it looks like there is a high threshold on how bad you have to be to be accepted. Anyone have experience with this?

I have the DTC and the paperwork looks worse than it is. as most of it is completed by the doctor. Mine was approved based on the accumulation of factors. CRA even adjusted back a couple years based on the doctor input of start date. It is good for a few years then have to reapply even though the doctor indicates zero chance of improvement or recovery.
