Long story short, VAC is trying to get me off IRB, but I am in no way, shape or form physical and mental wise to reintegrate back into the workforce. I am not on DEC so how, through my Family Doctor, do I magically convince VAC to keep me on IRB? I need DEC status. What would you recommend and how?

If your doctors are saying you can't work or go to school then that should be enough to show VAC that either you need more help and continue on IRB and see if things improve. If your doctors are saying you won't be able to work now or in the future then that should start the ball rolling for DEC.

Good day, I lost my old account and have not been on here in a long while. I have recently been aware a favourable DEC decision but much like all things government, there are a few unclear things (I would go as far as to say rumours) which DEC may or may not provide...I would like to ask about some of these rumours and get first hand information to either debunk or confirm some of the rumours and also maybe get some clarification on other DEC related topics?
1. Career Impact Assessment: Is this an automatic thing or do I need to ask for it following a favourable DEC Decision? Anyone with some experience with this able to shed some light on it? Also looking at information on how it works, like do they back date it to release date, do we need to ask for it in intervals (meaning say you had 20 years at say 30 released as say a Sgt, the projection says with another 20+ years ahead of you the rank could have been say a Chief WO, but you have only been release 10 years, clearly the CIA would not jump your compensation directly to the Chief WO salary being as it would be still 10 years out before hitting that make had it not been for the medical release). Links to references are fine too, I'll be slowly doing some of my own research into this too but its not a clear and simple process there is a lot of cross referencing to go over, so if anyone can cut through the fluff and provide an experienced base answer that would be most helpful for not only myself but I'm positive many others as well.
2. Rumours: I have heard of some rather odd claims of people on DEC getting things like Siding, Decks, Steps and even travel trailers paid for by VAC or Blue Cross or something of the sort. Dose anyone know if this is fact or fiction? And if it is fact, what are the criteria and processes for such things? Normally I would dismiss such claims, however, hearing so many different claims it warrants asking about. Anyone with some experience in these matters it would be greatly appreciated; even just knowing that they are false rumours is good to know.
If I can get enough information on this, and forum users agree, would anyone like for me to build a thread for DEC fact and fiction with links if I can figure it out? Also if so would anyone like to help in that process?

DEC is a determination on whether or not a veteran is capable of earning 66.6% of their pre-release CAF pay. DEC offers no financial benefit on it's own. When a veteran is deemed to have DEC, IRB will continue. Any assistance related to claimed injuries, recognized by VAC, will be limited to the benefits grid found in the the relevant POC.
