DEJECTED About the OT Process

My trade is currently RED and only 7 total members in my trade will be able to OT this year.
After a lengthy OT interview when I thought everything was going well the BPSO basically
told me I would have NO shot at being one of the 7. With my base maybe getting 1 of
those spots. The trade I want to get into however is looking for 70+ people to help
fill up it's ranks. Anyone have any advice? I do like my current trade but I want something
a little more fulfilling. Thanks and help me stop this sick feeling in my gut. :-\

Normally if a trade is red, no OT out will be allowed - this is the first I've heard of any type of "quota" for OT out.  Not saying it's not the truth, but it sounds unusual.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the input. I too thought the 'quota' was unusual and had always thought that if a trade went RED it meant NO WAY IN HELL. I guess that's not the case as they will allow a certain number of people out. Thanks again.

Apparently they started to give this quota out as an incentive to stay in and wait til you get it.

because at the end of the day you could release, wait a week, walk into the recruiting centre and join in the new trade you wanted,

And that is why you have to wait six months to reapply.  Recruiting is not in the business of making people's OT dreams come true.

The six month wait has been removed.  However it might take that long to get all your former paperwork due to the admin requirements after your release.

Thanks for the update.  Cheers.

Thanks for all the input. Guess I am staying put for now, I'll see what happens after ROTO.
