Deployments?

I‘m off to basic in about 1 month and was wondering once i‘m done and if i‘m with the 3rd ppcli does anyone know if I‘ll be deployed somewhere like the middle east. Is the ppcli still in afganastan? Does anyone know when they will deploying next or where to?

There is nothing on the books and any speculation is just that, speculation. Concentrate on developing into a productive member of the CF and learning the skills and craft of the infantryman. Once you get to the battalion in about a years time you can look forward to and speculate on training opportunities and operations.

a buddy of mine in 3 pickles is thinking that he‘ll be deployed to a-stan after the van doos do their tour. but no body knows for sure since the new minister has this "break for troops" idea going on.

I can assure you that there have been no orders issued for any units to prepare for Afghanistan. The Prime Minister‘s comments about 500 CF (not just army) could mean many things. At this point, it is all just speculation and commenting on unit preparation is questionable in a public forum.
