Aye Carumba, perhaps I should go Sig Ops, if this is the case, doesn't sound like there is much of a future in armoured!

Then you can sit in the back of an Armour Corps CP and watch the radios......  ;D

With all the Leos in the West, and no purchase of the MGS, with Force Reductions, the Strats (because they have those "Dinosaurs called Tanks") may also be sacrificed to become a Reserve Regiment, or even worse be disbanded, so that the most Junior Regiment, (12 RBC) and Franco Unit can survive.   JK   ;D

I know your kidding there GW. Although it initially sent a shiver down my back reading it. Although I have to say that the 12 RBC are not by definition the most junior. Mabye in the Reg force they are, but they are the continuation of the Three Rivers Regiment (Le Regiment de Trois Rivieres if you like) which has done very well and honourably for us in the past. But you probably already know that.

Now, whats the chances of them ever scrapping this "DFS test piece" and maybe seeing if the Cavalry idea works?

By Cav, I'm hoping you're referring to Armd Cav, and not Horse Cav (although the way things are changing you would never know) ;D

George - Man you're a pessimist!  Remember the great circle of life, we will eventually return to the tank.

To the Rhyno - I'm not sure what you've been told but if you join the Armoured Corps you will not have much say on what unit you get posted to. Although generally les Anglos go either to the RCD or the Strats and the Francos to 12 RBC, but even this is no longer guaranteed.  What unit you end up with, depends on when you arrive at the Armour School for your DP1 Trg.  You more than likely will get a Coyote Driver course qualification before being sent to one of the three Armoured Corps units.

Thanks Plattypuss, I'm aware that you can't choose your regiment. However sometimes it seems that at times one regiment or the other needs more soldiers (i.e. a big push for Straths or RCD's) I don't particularly care which one I get sent to put being married and what not, it would be nice to have an inkling before I go. I have decided on applying for the Armoured corps and feel I'm making a fantastic career choice. I'm hoping for a september or so BMQ. I'll be the guy that looks like Rhino from Spiderman  ;D

The new concept "will" succeed.  It has been so mandated.  Don't write off the Armour Of The West just yet! ;D
