Drop leg Holsters and utility rigs

Anyone familliar with Blackops outfitters in Afghan?
Franko, I saw it. If your in a pinch over there, its ok, but not nearly as good as the stuff we can get back home. I was seriously looking at some of the stuff they have at the Px in Pheonix.

The Bianchi UM84 is the CF issue holster -

and for all intesive purposes, utter garbage unless you work inside an office on camp. If you do any sort of moving, it slips and slides and will allow the pistol to fall out. Anyone who had to wear it daily ditched it pretty quick.

A couple guys got the BlackOps holsters as an attempt at a solution for the Bianchi CRAPOLSTER -- it is not a good holster from a quality point of view -- but much better than the UM-84 and will hold up for a tour.

I wish I had know as I have a BHP 6004 from my exploits that collects dust at the house...

Alrighty then......

Looks like I may have to spring for one then. Bought the chest harness for wearing around camp...it's not too bad, mind you you can't wear it when you have the rest of your tacvest and fragvest on. It'll probably do for the rest of the tour. I saw a few guys getting them repaired by the MATTECHs...mostly for broken snaps.

The leg holsters are going for about $45 US...not too bad. Plastic casing for the pistol itself. The CO has had his for 4 months and is holding up very well. Especially for climbing in and out of his LAV for the past few weeks. If I find a half decent one I'll probably spring for it as well.

Anything is better than the issued piece of crap....  ::)

Regards

It is an okay holster for a US issue M9 (as far as holding the pistol goes)   -- it is a worthless holster for the CF issue Browning.

It is not a good holster.
:-\Oh well...I only paid $20 for the setup, so it's not a dent in my wallet.

Thanks for all the advice. From what I can tell, the best idea is a rolly polly or something similar to it.
