We used to eat at Cracker Barrels frequently when traveling through the States in the early years. You could find one pretty much everywhere at Interstate intersections where the hotels are. Cheap, generally fast (not always) and a decent meat loaf. We stopped not long before Covid because the food got worse and we discovered Drury Inns where with your room, they feed you a pretty decent supper and beer for free.

The public has gone nuts with their constant outburst of outrage. I hated the woke wailings before, but the counter woke bullshit is every bit as bad.

Football (real footie, a game played with feet) is the most watched (and played) sport. And, with some odd exceptions around the world, they don't have cheerleaders (female or male). That's because footie fans come to watch a game that doesn't stop every six to ten seconds and don't need to be entertained while the teams figure out what they're going to do next. Beer drinking and hooliganism is enough to keep the fans occupied.

Now get this. Here in Quebec, RDS (the French TSN) puts together a show within an hour of the end of any broadcast of an Alouettes' game, called Alouettes Express. The show is one hour long. They only have ads between the quarters, so three sets of ads, so three sets for a one hour show. Yet, you get to see every single play, and replay of scoring plays or great plays. They do that by simply cutting off any time the clock is stopped and some of the useless time between plays when the clock is running (such as during huddles).

That's how little 'play" there is in our North American "football".
