Hello, I am new to Army.ca and I have found this an extremley helpful website in my applying to Armed Forces. I have wanted to join ever since I was a little girl so I am escatic that the process is finally happening. I went to Oshawa and found there is a huge need for Signal Operators. I applied a year earlier and the job I wanted wasn't available so I decided to go for what was available rather than what I wanted. I got the call yesterday and I have been walking on air ever since. I have completed all the tests except the Physical which they tell me will be done the second week in Saint-Jean. The recruiter also tells me that the push-ups are thumbs under armpits. I'm glad she told me, I have been doing them wrong! Anywhoo that is my story, I will keep you updated on how basic goes. Also, after reading several posts on this forum I am afraid of saying the wrong thing!!!  :salute: :cdn:

Congrats, moclyke!

It's attitude like that which will staid you through the journey of becoming a Canadian Soldier. Best of luck in your BMQ and keep us posted.

I applied a year earlier and the job I wanted wasn't available so I decided to go for what was available rather than what I wanted.

What did you apply for then?

Cheers,

Patrick

wheres your BMQ at? and ive herd PT test is on the SECOND day...

I wanted to be an Image Technician for the Air Force. The recruiter tells me that is a cushy job and people never want to leave!! :'(

My BMQ is at the Canadian Forces Leadership School in Saint-Jean, Quebec. And maybe....I might have heard it wrong lol, all I heard was "you're going". I know she said if you don't pass you get put in a platoon and your stay in Saint-Jean will be longer than everyone elses.  :P

Yeah, it happens - understandably. Here's some posts that I could find about SigOps..

Welcome to Warrior Platoon.

I'm sorry kincanucks, I'm not sure what you meant. I appreciate your welcome, but I don't intend to be in the Warrior Platoon.  ??? I have been exercising every day and I am very confident about me passing the PT test the first time around.
