With the current CDS' tenure nearing an end, I wonder if the timing of the release of this book is aligned to influence the selection of her replacement?

Highlights already being posted, sounds like a rocky relationship with PMJT, but unsurprising

Why am I not surprised? JT was raised to despise the Canadian military.

Freeland had no small part either. We had a decade of disastrous civil leadership.

Don't know about Justin Trudeau , but his Father didn't despise the military. He was confused by the fact that anybody with intelligence would serve. And said so on more then one occasion.

Next CDS will either be an in-demand TFW or a C suite buddy from Brookfield.

A TFW whose last job was a help line in India
To be fair the Indian Army etc seems to be a serious lot

Next CDS needs to get the house in order. If we want to be prepared to fight a war then regimental mafias, reg vs reserve etc all need to die

As it been long enough for the Navy to get another chance at it, or is that a once every three decades thing?

Interesting how PET managed to avoid being conscripted in the 2nd World War
As a proportion of the population very few were conscripted. Any given individual had quite a low chance.

And conscription only happened towards the very end of the war.

Little known factoid - When PET would disappear for a weekend or a few days, it was usually to go to the cottage of one Teddy McNaughton - Andy Leslie's Dad.

I never understood how a Country with 1.1 million serving citizens in WW2 could turn around and vote in a war dodging idiot like PET as Prime Minister?
I wish my grand parents were still alive as its a conversation I would love to have with them.
