Guns or Drones or Both?

The obvious next step is mounting laser designators on the UAV and APKWS kits on the rockets.

Or send a couple of designator UAVs in company with a flight of APKWS trucks. Add in a couple of EW types for a bit of flavour.

The particular drone that is causing a good chunk of the chaos along the land bridge.

I wonder if the message is getting through up top that our meagre plan for just two air defence regiments - with only a minor role for reservists - is just pathetic.

🙁

I 100% agree but I also wonder on the apparent focus on growing the Army to fight the opponent's Army when I wonder if we're getting to the point where we can instead focus on the logistics feeding those forces. Would the Germans have had to launch the Ardennes Offensive if they instead could have taken out the Red Ball Express?

There's no question in my mind that we need to grow logistics in a big way.

FYI @Colin Parkinson

"Moreover, UGVs are also being used to recover damaged equipment.

"Last year, footage from the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade showed tracked robots retrieving disabled drones and other systems from the battlefield under fire."

From Noah's article posted by @HavokFour :

"The Small UGV class is defined as having a vehicle weight up to approximately 410 kilograms without a cargo payload. The Medium UGV class covers vehicles weighing from approximately 410 kilograms to 1,700 kilograms without a cargo payload."

The DevDroid UAV, which mounts M2 HMGs or Mk19 40mms has a base weight of about 50 kg with an additional 40 kg for the GMG and a further 40 kg or so for a box of 48 rounds. = 130-150 kg AUW.

The Canadian Argo based Mission Master SP has a base weight of 750 to 1000 kg depending on battery pack and configuration and a payload of up to 600 kg.
