High Ranking Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

To the credit of OPS, after an officer unlawfully smashed someone in the head with a baton three times, didn't mention it in his report because he didn't know there were cameras recording his conduct, and was found guilty of assault, they have successfully got a verdict ordering him out of the police force.

Assistant Commissioner, head of RCMP F Division (Saskatchewan) claims to have been suspended. No words from the RCMP HQ.

The challenge in any hierarchical organization is the ability for very junior folks to report on misconduct by those very senior, and not face significant repercussions and/or retaliation.

For the RCMP to take such action suggests that at least an initial investigation occurred, and further diligence is needed - but that they do not appear to be entirely unfounded.

I understand anonymous complaints to protect people when there's a massive power imbalance but it's also weird in the sense that someone can't face their accusers.
Like, I don't know if there's any MGen currently in the Army where absolutely everyone looks at that person and says "They're gonna be CDS in not too long, and they'll have earned it", but that's the consensus around Blackmore.
