Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

Currently only Edison motors is the only fully Canadian manufacturer of heavy trucks. Sad state of affairs.
He just got kicked on the pants over his diesel electric not being environmentally certified. He is in Ottawa now trying to find a way to certify his engines.

We actually have a few. The LHS HLVW are actually FMTV. Both trucks are based on the Steyr 1491.
While FMV has the same original design input from Steyr, my understanding is that the IP for the entire US FMV line of vehicles (as for HEMTT) are US govt owned through Oshkosh. It's the broad variety of vehicles that had already been developed by Oshkosh that makes them attractive. - That and being on the same continent. Essentially one could have bought them, more or less, off the shelf with little or no need to "Canadianize."

LocMart builds the FMTV truck part now for HIMARS.

Given how backordered LocMart is for HIMARS, a LocMart Canada production site would not be unreasonable.

yea stupid stuff where a generator is not certified for the hwy and they want a bigger engine, when it's not needed. So typical of EC.

it can unload and reload the HIMARS?
The launcher has its own "crane" so to speak. It can pick a module up off the ground or off a truck.

The issue has more to do with loading the truck at an ammo dump and, if necessary, dropping modules on the ground at a rearm point.
