Looks like that's now potentially 7 refuellers out of battle today, although let's see what additional information follows.
I think they believe they'll have leverage over the regime if they get the Island.
The problem, however, is that they risk creating an economic crisis as oil prices moon. And if I'm Iran, I lean into this hard by going after everything in the Strait and going after the Saudi oilfields and Qatar's gas fields. The smart play for the regime is to escalate hard and make the oil shock as painful as they can.
But I guess it's the only play the Administration has left. There is no real way to force the regime to stop the denial operation at the Strait. Good luck to the USN and USMC I guess.

Take out the electrical substations and that will make sabotage a bit harder. Once they secured the Island, perhaps hand it over to a coalition of Gulf State troops to hold, freeing up US forces for potentiel landing at Qeshm Island.

Not sure if it’s related to what’s going on right now in Iran but I’m here in Toulouse waiting for my train to Montpellier and there are two groups of 5 armed soldiers patrolling the station.
They walk 2 abreast, spaced apart, a lone fellow walking center and then two abreast spaced apart following. Those 5 go by and 2 mins after them another set of 5.
Then there are 4 armed SNCF police and 2 municipality police wondering around randomly as a pack.
I don’t mind any of this. I’m sure it cuts down on a pair of guys walking into their version of the LCBO and walking about with a dozen stolen bottles with no one making an effort to stop them.
