Iran Super Thread- Merged

No shot getting out of NATO passes Congress or the Senate. Total nothingburger based on a deliberate misunderstanding of what NATO is.

The challenge is that he's still undermining the NATO commitment. Even if Congress won't allow it, he can still refuse to commit forces to help NATO.

My hot take is UAE and Saudi deserve any instability and in a just world both regimes are overthrown ans relegated tk the dustbins of history. You want to take about state sponsors of terrorism? These guys are top of the list. Theyre also slavers. Disgusting.

As someone who grew up there in the 80s and who is brown, I've always thanked my parents for choosing Canada. Only country I'll ever go to war for. And even as a kid I knew something was very wrong with the double standards for locals and then the racial hierarchy in the UAE. Glad my family booked it out. And even happier that of all places they chose Canada.

When we first moved here, my dad had to show the school principal where the Emirates was on a map. It's been wild to watch the rise of that place. All while it becomes more and more morally depraved. And I'm glad Westerners are finally catching on.

UAE was looking like a force for stability for awhile and now they are supporting the RSF in Sudan that just wiped out some 100,000 civilians, like WTF?

My dad was an engineer at a construction company. One day he got a call that one of his workers had committed suicide by hanging himself. My dad left his dinner and drove over to the quarters. He asked the cops outside what the situation was. They laughed and told him the dead man looked like a hanging tea bag. I share this story to illustrate the mentality they have towards workers, particularly the South Asians, Africans and East Asians.

To them, thousands of dead Africans doesn't even register as a concern. They are likely just mad the money they spent didn't yield the results they wanted.

Totally in keeping with Kash “Chug-a-Lug” Patel shit-canning the FBI’s counterterrorism unit because they worked on the Jan 6 file…

This guy that quit is no peach either.

There are so many overlapping and criss-crossing political agendas at play in the US these days, it's hard to know what narratives are true and what aren't (especially with a mainstream media that has an agenda of it's own also)

...

But I like Joe Kent - although my opinion is certainly open to change, and is admittedly based on a single interview of his that I watched on Shawn Ryan, link below.

(Episode #126 for reference)

Most of the Gulf States governments are pure evil manifest propped up by the Americans because of the resources they provide.

Just be ready to accept the consequences of The Hague in doing so.
What would those be?

I assume that for Israel to act gravely against international law, Israel would first feel itself gravely threatened. Given that, I would not be surprised if Israel meted out harsh personal counter-consequences against whomever it deemed responsible for apprehending and detaining people Israel sent out to deal with the threat.

Everyone who has ever had an interest in receiving oil from that region has had a hand in propping up the governments in the name of stability. Right this moment people are, in effect, arguing to prop up Iran (by arguing against taking it down) in the name of stability.

Interestingly, everything seemed to be going "well" prior to the attack.

Britain’s national security adviser, Jonathan Powell, attended the final talks between the US and Iran and judged that the offer made by Tehran on its nuclear programme was significant enough to prevent a rush to war, the Guardian can reveal.

Powell thought progress had been made in Geneva in late February and that the deal proposed by Iran was “surprising”, according to sources.

Two days after the talks ended, and after a date had been agreed for a further round of technical talks in Vienna, the US and Israel launched the attack on Iran.

Powell’s presence at the talks, and his close knowledge of how they were progressing, was confirmed by three sources.

And some of what Iran allegedly was going to agree to.

UK officials have subsequently explained they were impressed that Iran was prepared for the deal to be permanent and, unlike the 2015 nuclear agreement, would not have cut-off dates, or sunset clauses ending the restrictions on its programme.

Iran had also agreed to down-blend the 440kg stockpile of highly enriched uranium under the supervision of the IAEA inside Iran. It agreed no stockpiles of highly enriched uranium would be built up in the future.

In the final session of the talks, Iran agreed to a three- to-five-year pause on domestic enrichment, but the US in the afternoon session, after consultations with Trump, demanded a 10-year pause.

In practice, Iran had no means to enrich domestically because of the bombing of its enrichment plants in 2025.

Iran had also made an offer of what the mediators described as an economic bonanza, with the US being given the chance to participate in a future civil nuclear programme.

In return, nearly 80% of the economic sanctions on Iran would have been lifted, including assets frozen in Qatar, a demand Iran made in the 2025 talks.

The Oman mediator believed the offer of zero stockpiling of highly enriched uranium was a breakthrough that meant an agreement was within reach.

Accounts differ on whether Kushner left the talks giving the impression Trump would welcome what had been agreed, or that the US negotiators knew it would take something massive to persuade Trump that war was not the best option.

One Gulf diplomat with knowledge of the talks said: “We regarded Witkoff and Kushner as Israeli assets that dragged a president into a war he wants to get out of.”

Or, do you suggest that Israel violate international law in order to achieve this?
To be honest & frank, I don't think Israel really gives a shit...

They have an agenda. They have a desire to see various scenarios play out a certain way. And I don't think they are willing to settle for anything that isn't close to what that final vision looks like.

Israel is a very independent country that carries a pretty big stick. They have plenty of quiet, non-kinetic ways of influencing other countries & their leaders.

I don't think they rever international law the way some other countries do. They'll do what they need to do, and then wait for the world to just move on.

Just be ready to accept the consequences of The Hague in doing so.
Israel knows the deck is stacked against them and sees despicable regime get away with real genocide, so they are going to do what they feel they need to do and deal with the crap later.
