IS the Leo 1 A5 the MBT for Canada? I know when a unit of your came to Idaho a few years ago they had Leo 1s. I was on the M1A1s for nearly 6 years..and man does my *** hurt....(insert joke here)
 :gunner:

The Leo is the main battle tank for Canada but I think it might be classified as a medium tank. The armored corp also has Leo 2‘s if I‘m not mistaken. Upgraded turrets etc.

Canada‘s MBT is still the Leopard 1 A5 but it has been recently upgraded in terms of fire control systems, hull, mid life extension projects, etc.

An armoured fellow can correct me but doesn‘t the C2 have the same fire control system as the Leopard 2?

Gunner....no not quiet yet. It is upgraded to use thermal and has MGRS but it‘s no where near the same capabilities as the Leo 2A5.

CFL...it‘s designation is Leopard C2, a BIG difference.

BTW...that web site is nothing more that propaganda...Leo has 825 horse not 830
If these jokers could only get some of the small things right.....

Regards

Hey man I just run behind those things and laugh when the phone gets ripped away from the tank. ;)

And we laugh at you guys running behind us... ;)

As long as the toilette paper doesn‘t get wet...that shouldn‘t be too much of a problem.

It is usually the result of a two cylinder jobbie talking too much on the phone and not paying attention to the ‘green‘ tree the tank just straddled and has popped up sending said grunt to the MIR with broken bones.

:D

Or it could be that the tanks decide to punch through without letting the poor guy know. :D

With a little more time around tanks you‘d/you‘ll learn that they are very unpredictable. You do not sleep on the ground around tanks. You do not stand behind tanks. You do not park behind tanks. On a whole, if you don‘t ride in a tank, stay away.

Dude, if they are closer then 50m and I‘m in the prone during a section attack, I‘m up and waving my arms like a wild man. I‘ve been long enough to know that you sleep in a forest with very big, thick trees if possible. If not then in my LAV. ;)

CFL and GUNNER... In answer to your earlier statements:

Leopard C1 A5
http://www.ironsides.8m.com/cai/leo.html

Leopard C2
http://www2.sfu.ca/casr/101-vehleo2.htm

Leopard 2
http://fprado.com/armorsite/leo2.htm

Hope that clears up the somewhat obvious confusion in your earlier statements ;)

Regards

BTW...Tankers do it better :D

There was also the 39 Round Bin. Franko still harps about his coffee to the NATO Standard. Those days are long gone. Time to get out.

Used to be a time when there wouldn‘t be one tank with a full load of NBC filters in the entire sqn...They‘d all be full of boo...they‘d all be full of pop, nice fresh, cold pop.

Those were ‘Green Grenades‘; always the last thing on the ADREP.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
66 Stryker MGS for 600 mln CAN?! How can that be possible? 9 mln dollars per vehicle?. The most expensive MBT, the Japanese Type 90 dosn‘t even cost that much. Where does that price come from, can someone tell me?
For 600 mln we could buy a little over 100 Leopard 2S tanks, the same vehicles that Sweden bought, which are dramatically more effective than the Stryker...
