Israel in the 21st Century

If Hamas survives, I think Israel plan is to give space for another power faction in Gaza to grow, that won't like Israel, but has other interests than attacking it.
That didn’t work with Hamas when ISR turned a blind eye as a way to screw PLO & Co., so let’s hope the next try works out better for them.

Although there’s no shortage of tribes/families to co-opt, the same ones can also be co-opted by others wanting to continue to screw ISR in the left ear.

🤞

It's quite possible they have learned from their mistakes, there are very few options to do. You have a couple generations of Palestinians trained to believe that there can be no peace with Israel. Just watching a clip on people being asked if there can be peace with Israel and the most common answer is "Never" That is the level of indoctrination and also likley fear of being labelled a traitor.

The only success is a local faction providing water, power and food, along with peace with Egypt, because without that element there is no future in Gaza. That faction has to be backed up by the IDF. The Israelis don't want Palestinians working in Israel anymore, most of the people that suffered the most on Oct 7th was the peaceniks that wanted peace with Palestinians.

My wild ass guess is there is at least three generations who have known nothing but "Israel is our enemy" mantra. Even if there is a two state solution Israel will still be under threat.

Undoubtedly, that threat might subside, but never to go away. Islam cannot tolerate being an equal of Jews, Christians and others, Israel existence and that of the Jews is a failure of the Islamic leaders that must be rectified.

Two palestinians attack a bus, 6 reported dead, not sure if that includes the terrorists, who were killed by responding civilians and armed off duty soldiers. Non graphic video starts at the 5:00 mark

The Israeli's once again reminding everyone in the Middle East, (and the rest of the world), of the length of reach and their willingness to use it.
Interesting the difference in air dominance in the ME vs Ukraine.

In one, everything flies, in the other, everything dies.

You have to wonder how many Israeli military planners lie awake at night in terror of Hamas/Hezbollah having access to the capability/resources that the Ukrainian drone operators have.

Israel was probably waiting for this opportunity. Not the qatar strike but the last few years.

Gaza and Hamas - weakened if not shortly eliminated.
Hezbollah - essentially demilitarized and not a threat.
Iran - severely weakened.
This may be a poor choice of words, but oct7th was the best thing to happen to Israel for its long term security and safety.

It woke up some of the more serious people in the West, just how real the threat is and how pointless the peace efforts have been. Particularity as many of the victims of Oct 7th were some of the biggest promoters of peace with the Palestinians, within Israel.

My guess is the region is going to be too busy in the next decade to worry about Israel and the Palestinian, Iran, Iraq, Syria and even Turkey to a lesser extend are running out of water.

1) The F-35 isn't exactly a wallowing pig, the IAF nailed Iran with them without issues.
2) Qatari AD was probably asleep at their posts.
