LCBO theft

Like the title says, report on LCBO theft readers may, or may not, find of interest,

This is also a excellent case study of how not to handle the media. The last employee at the cash register did a far better job than the manager.

I know a lot of people don't like Rebel News, but this is still good Journalism and doing what they are supposed to do, disrupting the easy way of doing things and making sure both the LCBO and Police management do their jobs.

Well, their policies are that their staff are not allowed to intervene in a theft. From what I understand, it many cases they won't even bother to report it to the police.

While I could understand that their might be liability issues with intervening, not reporting a visible theft should be a disciplinary action in itself. With the advent of good quality video and ability to have the relevant video timestamped and released to police easily, that should be the SOP. Also allows management to track thefts and decide where to put in more deterrence's.

The question at my place is why are they paying for security guards if no one is going to do anything??

Jimmy: Look ma it's a security guard.
Brother Tom: That's a mannequin bro.
Ma: Nope, a mannequin is more useful son. At least it displays items available in the store.

At DND's Carling Campus, there is a fierce team patrolling the grounds, who refuse to be intimidated.
