Liberal Minority Government 2021 - ????

I don't think you're giving enough credit to how shitty a person and politician JT has turned out to be. He is responsible himself for much/most of his opposition.

Also he sure could say something that would make most people in this country very happy.
And the comments sections would still be filled with vitriol.

Bear with this. Watch the Liberals/NDP show disgusting behavior.

Warren Kinsella:

After Alexander finished her opening statement, Liberal MP Anita Vandenbeld spoke. You could be forgiven for thinking that Vandenbeld is a nobody who couldn’t get picked out of a one-person police lineup. She’s worked for the United Nations (naturally), and she’s been investigated by the ethics commissioner (practically a Trudeau Liberals job requirement). That’s about it.
By their words and their deeds, we know who the Trudeau Liberals are. Non-entities like Anita Vandenbeld show us, all the time.

They’re liars and hypocrites.

And, this week, they again reminded us that they don’t give a sweet damn about female victims of violence.

This was shitty, but what does the NDP have to do with anything here?

The NDP MP (Leah Gazan) was upset because she wasn't able to bring her own witnesses that also were victim of domestic violence, which is a large problem but also a very different context compared to non-Indigenous women, and while there is a lot of feet dragging on looking for the bodies of missing Indigenous women in a landfill. That's despite the MMIWG effort that went no where, and much higher victim rates.

That's very different than the assclown liberal MP, and a pretty shit take from whoever these annoying podcasters are.

You don't need to watch hyperpartisan edits and commentary on this either, the actual video is easily accessible as is the hansard record. Procedurally they can just shut down the motion hard and carry on. It's not like CPC has done anything about it either when in power, so lets not pretend they are the party for women's rights either (none of them are very effective, as it's a very difficult thing to do).

These podcasters have a much, much larger following than you. That NDP MP was never denied the opportunity to bring her own witnesses, she just didn't think to do it.

The CPC didn't have catch and release bail when they were last in power, stats don't lie. Crime was down in 2015 compared to the shit show today, you know 9 YEARS AFTER Trudeau has been in power. Ohhh, but keep blaming conservatives.

Go stick your head back in the sand...

Part of the catch and release issue is over crowding in prisons, how many new facilities have been built in the last 10 years? how many closed? We lack jail space, we lack prosecutors, and judges to get these trials done quickly, the system is hurting in general.

Sounds like more government issues that need dealing with. The "system" is to blame? Nope, political willpower.

yes, but everything comes down to political will to fix issues. If we wanted more lawyers and judges maybe subsidizing law school to make it in reach for more people would help? build more prisons, god knows we got lots of empty space.

too true. Maybe Trudeau could allocate some of his housing budget to building new facilities to prevent overcrowding. But that is a provincial issue.

Overcrowding in jails for criminals? Who cares. People in our largest cities are paying insane prices for box apartments and tiny rooms.

Big supporter of jails that can get pretty heated up, frisky & violent for corrections officers to keep a grip on, are you? ;)

In all seriousness, agreed that building more jails is federal and provincial turf, but it seems since that's expensive to do and takes a while (and Team Blue governments at all levels don't seem to move toooooo quickly on this front, either, in spite of the general "law and order" approach - cost big money to build and bigger ongoing money to run), other measures are being tried that are faster/easier, but kinda less than successful so far :(

Peak left wing here.

Shut up about getting your face smashed in while I try and force an abortion vote.

I like how she acts like she wants to hurry up and get the vote out of the way so she can get back to the survivors talking. Garbage.

I find people like that to be contemptible.

I find the other people who ought to be disciplining and removing their contemptible peers, also contemptible for not doing so.

Hence my thin regard for politicians, or any other class of "betters" which exhibits the same behaviour. They always seem to find some rationale for not taking out their own trash.
