Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

But who’s the say that the Americans don’t do the same, drop that same tariff as the price for economic peace?

But I really don’t want economic peace with Beijing. They are a malignant power bent on turning us into a vassal state. Ditto the Trump Administration. They can both get bent.

Don’t get me wrong though. I would love to see $10000 EVs here that would wipe that smug grin off of Musk’s face. But I think if we dropped the EV tariff, that would hurt us with the Yanks (I believe those tariffs were introduced by Biden) more than they would help us with Beijing.

Stephen Ledrew, past president of the Liberal Party of Canada, who knows a bag of hammers when he sees it.

The new budget will be interesting, let’s see how far that debt hole goes.

CPC knows it to, their leader isn't polling the best in some demographics and they need to fix that

The CPC will have thier chance to change leaders.

Having said that, woe be the party that brings down a minority Gov too soon. Canadians don't like elections too soon after elections. Its truly an act of timing.

Are they mature enough to do that though. PP is still enjoying party support. Not sure that is going to change.

Yeah, I think that’s is correct right now. Too risky.

I think it will depend on what the numbers look like for PP at the time. If they get better he may stay, if not he may go...

But I don't see anyone chomping at the bit to replace him...

That’s exactly it. No depth. Since the leadership run it’s been the PP and his wife show. He was leader, attack dog, critic etc etc. The party needs to let a few others step up and take leadership roles. I’m sort of seeing a bit of that now but it’s few and far between,.

My guess is $110B.

PP needs to worry if Carney's game plan is to look at stringing base hit after base hit after base hit, slowly racking up the runs instead of swinging for the fences every time he's at the plate. Carney's a smart man, he hasn't done what he's done, been where he's been because he swung for the fences every time he stood at the plate. He got to where's at by consistently getting on base, stealing a base here and there, and rounding third when he's able to safely score. If he sticks with that game plan - and - has a reliable enough team behind him that does the same - PP will have a very difficult time ahead of him.

Sorry for the baseball analogy, with both my Detroit Tigers (my first love) and the Toronto Blue Jays in the playoff hunt, I'm fully in baseball mode.

Based on above, there's not a single demography that he is polling well in.
Right, but let's see the number when they separate out just conservative voters/supporters, and better yet, those who will actually have a vote in the leadership review.

I'd also like to see the same as above but broken down by province. Are there enough disaffected Conservatives east of Manitoba to overpower the fervor of PP supporters west of Ontario?

Im a life long Yankees fans, Mattingly was my childhood hero.

So far Carney hast been great at announcing the line up. But the fans are going to want to see some actual game play soon. Time is not on PMMC's side IMHO. He needs to start delivering and he needs to start that yesterday. Recent Line and Curse of Politics podcasts have been poking the same issue.

Like it or not PMMC is attached to a 10 year old stale Gov. And people are expecting big things, those expectations were set PMMC himself.
