If they brought a serious and mature policy platform with him or someone like him as leader, I would very seriously consider doing so as well. Had they done so under the former PM it would have been an absolute no brainer.

I’d need him to come out and say that he’s not going to change or alter the sub purchase from what it’s current direction is, same with the River class, 15 of them going forward. 100% commitment in the NATO 5% policy, expansion of the CAF numbers and capabilities m, etc etc.

Interesting words from the Governor of the Bank of Canada on the budget.

Canada’s top banker says he’s hopeful the new Liberal budget will encourage business investment and stimulate the economy.

“I think there is a significant change in this budget,” Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem told senators on the Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy on Thursday. “The government is very clearly reducing their operating expenditures, putting more of their spending towards investment, and that’s both public investment and efforts to catalyze private investment.”

The sooner they marginalize the influence of the socons, the better. Its been a disaster for the party allowing them to be kingmakers. Harper was smart enough to crush their shit and to govern as a centrist/right-of-centre government. American style social conservatism goes over about as well as a rabies shot to most Canadians.
