'Nice riding. It would be a shame if something were to happen to it'.
“Former Conservative campaign manager Jenni Byrne, who is still an adviser to the party, has been involved in the party's efforts to quell possible floor-crossings, sources said.”
I’m sure that isn’t helping…
I could get behind Mike if he keeps certain faction under lock and key within the party.Do you think that's a good idea? He's bot very popular with our good friends in Beijing.
Id vote CPC again with him at the helmI could get behind Mike if he keeps certain faction under lock and key within the party.
If they brought a serious and mature policy platform with him or someone like him as leader, I would very seriously consider doing so as well. Had they done so under the former PM it would have been an absolute no brainer.Id vote CPC again with him at the helm
I’d need him to come out and say that he’s not going to change or alter the sub purchase from what it’s current direction is, same with the River class, 15 of them going forward. 100% commitment in the NATO 5% policy, expansion of the CAF numbers and capabilities m, etc etc.If they brought a serious and mature policy platform with him or someone like him as leader, I would very seriously consider doing so as well. Had they done so under the former PM it would have been an absolute no brainer.
The sooner they marginalize the influence of the socons, the better. Its been a disaster for the party allowing them to be kingmakers. Harper was smart enough to crush their shit and to govern as a centrist/right-of-centre government. American style social conservatism goes over about as well as a rabies shot to most Canadians.I could get behind Mike if he keeps certain faction under lock and key within the party.

That sounds about right.'Nice riding. It would be a shame if something were to happen to it'.
Pierre is done.
Less typing than “those people.”They.
Sigh.
Random partisan beastings will continue until morale improves.

Welcome to mid 21st century political life. Unfortunately."Nice, career your spouse/ child has. Would be a shame if drew the attention of our social media hordes"
Now we're talking."Nice, career your spouse/ child has. Would be a shame if drew the attention of our social media hordes"
That was the dream. With a Carney led LPC minority there was a real opportunity to work with him and influence policy. It would seem that some CPC MP's are not happy with the decision to reject that opportunity in order to dive right back into pure adversarial opposition. It would be nice to see a Liberal/Conservative grand coalition. We might see a little less silliness from all involved.
Looks we're trending in the right direction after the initial shock of the American trade madness. Cautiously optimistic but we'll have to wait and see until the New Year though to get a good picture of what is actually going on.A bit of good news.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the .6% lowering of youth unemployment for October is directly related to the massive cut backs in September to the number of foreign students being allowed to enter Canada. This drastic (much needed, with still even more needed) drop in foreign students gave an opportunity for the youth of Canada to be able to get access to more job openings from Canadian firms.
The Employment rate went up, which is much much needed. It needs to be back over 62.1-62.6%
Canada's unemployment rate edges down to 6.9% in October
Economy also added 67,000 jobs, beating economist expectations
The youth unemployment rate, meanwhile, fell for the first time since February as young people aged 15 to 24 gained jobs, Statistics Canada said. That rate has been on an upward trend for the better part of the last two and a half years
Unemployment rate: 6.9 per cent (7.1)
Employment rate: 60.8 per cent (60.6)
Participation rate: 65.3 per cent (65.2)
Number unemployed: 1,557,300 (1,606,500)
Number working: 21,081,900 (21,015,300)
Youth (15-24 years) unemployment rate: 14.1 per cent (14.7)
Men (25 plus) unemployment rate: 5.9 per cent (6.1)
Women (25 plus) unemployment rate: 5.5 per cent (5.6)
