Serving IN the government of another country or ADVISING the government of another country? I suppose we send people from various government agencies to advise other governments on issues such as policing, military training, judicial and legislative reform, health care, etc., but that's a government policy decision.
Will Freeland be the channel for official Government of Canada advice to Ukraine on economic development issues or will she be giving her own advice? I think there is a huge difference between the two. The former I don't necessarily have an issue with. If the later however I think she should resign her seat in the House of Commons as she could potentially be giving advise to a foreign power that could be in contrast with Canadian Government policy or interests.
