Almost like the government short changed the compensation on purpose to try and drive up FOMO.First come first served may be the tactic here?

Don't be fooled, saving face is the tactic here. They lose support they can't afford to lose in Quebec if they cancel this colossal albatross around their necks.First come first served may be the tactic here?
Sure. Doesn’t stop them from employing a panic tactic to get people to turn their firearms in though. Get your money now or never type thing.Don't be fooled, saving face is the tactic here. They lose support they can't afford to lose in Quebec if they cancel this colossal albatross around their necks.
That is what crossed my mind.Almost like the government short changed the compensation on purpose to try and drive up FOMO.
Nostradamus
More car stuff about China.
Your safe word doesn’t work here Altair.Nostradamus
I don’t know anybody who will comply with this.Don't be fooled, saving face is the tactic here. They lose support they can't afford to lose in Quebec if they cancel this colossal albatross around their necks.
I can’t wait for the class action for proper payment. You can’t prohibit or expropriate property without reasonable payment provided. Considering lots of it they just say tough (like AR-15 uppers) they will be sued. This is sure to make Liberals happy.
Ottawa unveils next steps in its national gun buyback program. Here are the details
That $750M dropped to $248M quick.
There's only enough to cover 136,000 guns. Which is funny when you consider there's at least 95,000 AR15 model firearms alone.
Most owners of prohibited firearms are fucked for compensation. They get to turn in their firearms for $0 or become criminals.
I dont know how you cant comply if your rifle is restricted?I don’t know anybody who will comply with this.
I dont know how you cant comply if your rifle is restricted?
The government knows the name and address of everyone owning a registered restricted rifle. If they don't voluntarily turn in their registered firearms by October 26 they will be illegally in possession of prohibited guns and could face having all their firearms seized and whatever criminal punishment.I dont know how you cant comply if your rifle is restricted?
The aim is to expropriate without (much) compensation, but they've structured it so they can finesse it.I can’t wait for the class action for proper payment. We paid slave owners when slavery ended, this isn’t a thing you can just declare they will not pay out on.
Sure they can. Items often become illegal to possess after they emerge on the market. "Pepper spray" was prohibited for human self defence in 1998, long after it appeared on the market. Expropriation only applies to real property (land and fixed assets) in Canada.I can’t wait for the class action for proper payment. they don't threaten our natural governing party at all. In fact they support them verbally and financiallyOh I wasn't.
I'm genuinely curious if China's threat to Canada improved and they're safer, or if they're just as bad, just that the US is worse.
Maybe I need to better understand what Carney meant by "biggest security threat to Canada".
you need sailors, machinists, soldiers, mechanics don't you? You will be able to man the entire surface fleet from the layoffs in Oakville.Utterly wrong. If that were true, the 80% of the population which used to work in agriculture and has been reduced to something like 2-3% would all be jobless right now.
Displaced workers will find other employment as long as entrepreneurs are not stifled from innovating and venturing.
Canada is still a seller's market for labour.
stop bitching if you voted red.The aim is to expropriate without (much) compensation, but they've structured it so they can finesse it.
"We're not actually confiscating firearms. In fact, we're offering to buy a limited number. All that's happening is the firearms will be illegal in 6 months."
Too clever by half. Governments that so bluntly attack the triumvirate of life, liberty, and property de-legitimize themselves a bit.
Please explain why special rules should apply to the fighter jets but not any other purchases.I could, but I have no interest in engaging in endless discussions about that again. I think that was a topic of discussion for a few days here, and frankly, I have zero desire to rehash that.
Like I said, voodoo.
Please explain why special rules should apply to the fighter jets but not any other purchases.
You haven't mentioned the Gripen before in this thread.
Its going to a hard sale to turn down.Yeah so if they want faster, they need a new production line, combined with Global eye, we are talking 13,000 high to medium skill jobs in Canada not to mention a cut for the canadian government for any Gripen sales built in canada
