Not really...
Especially when you consider it's replacing existing CL-215 and CL-415's. Of that 26 number Alberta has ordered 5 (up one from it's current 4), Ontario 6 (currently has 9 CL-415's so less than replacement) and Manitoba 3 (unclear current fleet #'s).
Or to put it in perspective wikipedia has 28 CL-215/215ST 's in use in Canada and another 26 CL-415's.
Europe has for comparision (all under national colors) :
CL-215 - 30 total (Moroco- 3, Portugal- 3, Spain -14, Greece -10)
CL-415 - 52 total (Croatia -6, France 12, Greece 7, Italy 18, Morocco 5, Spain 4)
That only leaves a few airframes in the US and Malaysia left.
On a more positive note there is a commitment to increase cross training which is good as Portugal, Spain and France came to Canada (2023 Quebec fires) and France again this summer (2026 Quebec fires). Unfortunately we get alot of fires in Canada and for some parts of Europe it's definitely skill sets they are not as used to using....
At this point I'm just not clear on whether it will be a CIFFC to EU agreement or CIFFC to nation/state agreement...both examples are currently in use today.
