Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

don't forget sales to the U.S. With New York state trying to go completely green without sufficient backups there should be lots of scope for sales. It is a long way to the border though unless they put the cables on the lake bottom

Could power quite a few domestic data centres too.

Stephen Ledrew, late of the Liberal Party of Canada, sounding a lot like an Albertan.

That's a wild take, that the job loss of 25,000 was attributable to Carney, and not directly the result of massive and illegal tariffs imposed by our largest trading partner.

If CPC play is to keep saying the current guys suck, but their only alternative is some meaningless slogan where they've nouned a verb, then they will be stuck as a bunch of whingers in perpetual and childish opposition.

Looks like another by-election is on the way
Excellent. It shouldn’t have had to go all the way to SCC to correct this error, but at least they made the right call. Run it again. I’m looking forward to reading this one when I can carve out the time.

Honestly, I don’t think Liberal voters thought Carney would get a good deal, or any deal with Trump. I think a lot felt, based on vibes, that Poilievre would fold like a cheap suit and take any deal at any cost. In their defence though, Poilievre didn’t really do or say anything to reassure those who may have been on the fence. Tories have historically since the 80’s been pretty reflexively pro-American and a sizeable minority are pro-Trump, so it’s not a completely unjustified vibe.

They rendered the decision on the bench. The written reasons, if any, will be published later.

The author is ex-liberal with an axe to grind possibly but he is not cpc. although having his comments appear in the Sun one might think otherwise.

Not just a Liberal but the President of the Liberal Party of Canada in the era of Chretien, Martin, Manley, McTeague, McKay and Kinsella.

A party I voted for on occasion.

Never heard of him before!

"When the Prime Minister was pushing forward Bill C-24, a law to replace corporate donations to political parties with taxpayer subsidies, Liberal Party president Stephen LeDrew called the idea "dumb as a bag of hammers.""

He was ubiquitous on TV for those years.
