Out of curiosity with 10,000 CAF members in the Halifax area and the recent 13+% pay increase, any ideas what that’s going to do to the cost of housing there?
How about if they add another 3-5,000 CAF members to the Halifax area over the next 3-6yrs?

The point is there are food stuffs that don't require importing and lots of land to grow them on. We need the facilities to handle them which we used to have and probably a renewed interest in farming as a career. They earn their pay for certain and pay directly into CPP as well.
It’s a shame that Canadians find this work ‘beneath’ them. Unfortunately there are tens of thousands here who really do only have this sort of skill set but won’t do the work.

Agreed it needs to be refocused on to what its goal was, making sure we didnt have homeless, poor seniors. The entire situation of elder care needs reform, my grand mother in law lives at a home that takes about 80% of a seniors income as rent, after medications etc she has maybe $40 a month of spare money. Its highway robbery especially for the low level of care she needs.
