Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

We vote ours MPs in as a representative of the people. And the party that those MPs run under means everything.

If you're going to change that, especially in a riding as blue as hers, you're going to have to expect some vitriol, IMHO. FAFO.

This is my whole problem with floor crossing. MPs represent the people who send them to parliament under one banner. If they want to change that banner it should trigger a by-election. The MPs are not there on their own accord, they are representative. The people should be deciding this.
Vitriol? Sure. Death/rape theats to the MP and/or their family? No, that’s not ‘FAFO’, that’s just crime.

Forget looking at the heads of the LPC and CPC for a minute.

The front bench of the LPC are several duds and people who can't manage a lemonade stand. Like Diab, Gary A, Mark Miller and Sean Fraser.

The CPC on the other hand has an all star shadow cabinet.

At this point, why? The damage your seeing now is from last year stil lagging.

I know how you feel about Pierre. Ask yourself what policies is he f#cked on? What direction?

Its about leadership. CPC MPs are voting with their feet.

Hes not moving the party forward and infact his MPs are leaving. And he would have a greatly reduced number of seats if an election were held today.

If the party is happy with this it deserves to wander in the political hinterland and continue letting the LPC "mold" this country.

Canada is polarized politically, and actions like this don't help.

I'm not condoning it, I am just saying it shouldn't be unexpected in todays day and age.

wander in the political hinterland
They are not in the political hinterland by a long shot. The position they do hold in spite of a blatant propaganda campaign is amazing.

Let the LPC have garbage like Michael Ma (Who has now hurt the LPC with his stupid comments) and Matt Jeneroux (Lied through his teeth).

Doing what is right is not always popular. The CPC has an an excellent platform and if they build on it over the next few years, it will only get better.

Stay the course or just give up, your call.

But without an election on the horizon that they have a chance to win, that’s basically just a fantasy football team.

PM Carney has been slowly but steadily making changes to cabinet and I’m sure we’ll see that continue as ministers succeed or fail in proving their competence to him. I don’t expect the cabinet today will be the cabinet we see in six or twelve months.

That would be good to see some of the clowns ditched and that includes the leftover from Trudeau.

I wish he would be firmer (like when challenged on Michael Ma's slave labour comments)

To be honest, I don't want to see an election for a bit, things need to settle. and Canadians need to really decide if Carney's liberals are what they really want.

You know, you're not totally wrong.

The LPC runs their party to win elections; and as we saw last year they will say and do and go back on anything to maintain power.

The CPC could learn a lesson there, principals really don't matter much unless you are forming Gov. The CPC needs to run leaders who can win elections and then govern.

The standards to judge the LPC and the CPC are very different. If the CPC campaigns like the LPC, they will get fried and never see government again.

Last election, the Conservatives didn't stand a chance, no matter who lead them. The Trudeau gone-Trump scary propaganda machine that promised the banker would save us all campaign was a juggernaut that no one could have faced. The fact the LPC didn't get a majority is a miracle. Add to that Jagmeet pathetic weakness.

What happens if the blue haired trans-sexual cat weirdos decide they like Avi Lewis? along with the fake greenys and the Palestine above all else crowd? There goes the LPC left flank.

Another one, Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu crosses the floor to the Liberals. This is not an MP I thought would cross the floor, first elected in 2006, former leadership candidate. This may ruffle some feathers in the CPC camp.

Ok wow. Maybe there might be something to that claim a couple days ago that there are 10 MP's looking to cross.

But someone like her? That was unexpected, something is definitely going off behind the scenes inside the CPC.

That now makes 4 crossers under Pierre's leadership.

He also lost his communications director today.

as I said, I’ve known her for decades.

There’s nobody more Conservative in the CPC than Gladu.
I strongly suspect there is something else going on here that has more to do with Liberal Party (Carney 2026 Release 2.2 edition) than the CPC (Poilievre edition). In particular, there’s one man she would have sought advice and sought his blessing- Stephen Harper.

Read Merrifield's comments on her departure. Your looking for something that isn't there

And PP didn't change up his campaign when JT was dumped. It's never PPs fault, the buck stops elsewhere.
The onus is on him to win or lose. That being said, he was up against a juggernaut.

Enjoy Liberal Canada for the next several years.

I would love to see people like you judge the LPC with the same standard you judge the CPC.

Go back and read some of the old comments here. Some of you crapped all over O'Toole (who I agree was rather weak) and you did same to Scheer. And some of you are the same ones who defended Trudeau and a few of you (even less) justified Jagmeet as "kingmaker" role in the last parliament (Look what that did to the NDP).

Imagine if the CPC threw Harper to the dirt after the 2004 election? What a different world we would be in.

Yup, keep clamouring for Pierre's ouster, we know who need to beat Carney. Not like Carney's doing a good job (he sucks at politics and its reputation that carries him for now).

Is Pierre magic? Hell no. His platform is rock solid and his policy proposals still stand stronger now than they did in 2025 election.

Keep hyper focusing in a knee jerk reaction on the leader of the opposition and whatever you do, don't judge the Liberals critically, that would be "un-Canadian"

I never expected such high praise of PMMC from you!
Believe it or not, I still much prefer him to Trudeau. and the Liberals created a heavyweight world champion who never even stood in the octagon so to speak. The Liberals have a strong campaign team.

The Liberal base is very forgiving whenever the elect their party to power and the promises being fulfilled are lacking.
