Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Seems like it's a trend.

I am very pro American, but I can recognize the damamge their current Administration has done on this side of the border.

I would say the disparity exists because they just don't think about us that much...

What is the damage exactly?

I don't count self induced hysteria, so I'd love to see a list of the damage the US has inflicted on Canada.

In Canada we need to fight to keep a foreigner gangster accused of ordering shootings, arson, and murder in custody.

Minister of Public Safety fights to keep accused murderer and alleged Bishnoi gangster in custody

The Minister of Public Safety wants to overturn an Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) order issued July 7 that would have seen Singh released on electronic monitoring, under virtual house arrest, after his two sisters posted bonds worth a combined $110,000.

IRB really wants this guy back on the street. Maybe give him a complimentary PAL?

I mean I have always recognized Canada had a bit of seething undertone of anti-Americanism baked in. There are reasons for that. I don't agree with it, oh well.

Just look at the tone on this forum. Look at the Canadian who slapped an American for wearing a MAGA shirt or hat...

Trump has damaged this relationship.

I agree the undertone exists.

As to the rest, I'd call all of those reactions. There is also a portion of the population who can control their reactions.

Do you seriously need examples in good faith? Tarriffs? Hell even the recent extortion of the new Gordie Howe Bridge...I cant see how that is good faith at all.

Over 1000 of my coworkers laid off and my company needing a 400m bailout loan to survive is a easy example for me. All thanks to a 50% steel tariff for ‘security reasons’ (which is funny considering a large portion of the armour plate in their fighting vehicles was made by my company).

Some people sticking their heads in the sand and pretending that nothing bad is happening to fellow Canadians just because of a fickle and hostile administration is denialism. Can’t change their minds with evidence, their opinions are made on emotion not facts.

Why don't you ask lumber, steel, aluminum producers - as well as softwood lumber makers - how damage-free they've been since the latest tariff fracas began? Or do you blame all the GDP contraction and higher consumer costs on Canada's government alone? After all, if we're in a recession because of a 0.1% drop in GDP, and some say overall GDP has dropped between 1.5 and 2%, how much of that drop is due to tariffs?

42,000 people in 36 countries mean around 1,200 respondents per country. For a Canadian poll to be statistically relevant, 1,000 to 1,500 people would need to respond. Assuming 1,200 Canadians responded, it is statistically relevant, whether you like it or not….

Yep. Stats 101.

Useful idiocy or straight up being compromised by foreign interests due to propaganda.
