That's because they aren't "franchises". The federal Conservative party is not connected to any provincial party.

Definitely. He's putting himself out there way more than can be explained otherwise. Remember, he's not even part of the CPC shadow cabinet. Jivani's only been in Parliament since spring 2024. He's managed to get a ton of visibility in that time, by parliamentary standards he's quite young, and he's used to having some attention on himself. This is a dude who's gonna push hard, probably help shove the knife in, make a run for leader, and probably gonna flame out.
If the Canadian Alliance CPC membership votes him in to replace Poilievre, I would probably consider getting a membership in the Liberal Progressive Conservatives.
I am in with our local CPC EDA and I will tell you from our angle of the world, lots of bullshit is being spread around about Conservative infighting. Its horseshit. And the CPC is very aware of the propaganda campaign. Kory Teneycke is about as conservative as I am a green party supporter (I was long time ago but not at all now).
On the other hand if he clamped down on his freelancing Poilievre would be called weak for muzzeling his MPs and being afraid of what they're saying.
Being able to balance that appropriately is a pretty classic test of effectiveness in party leadership.
On this we agree. Pierre is walking a really tight rope and has zero room for error.
He has some room for error; they all do any nobody generally nails this perfectly. But yeah, it’s not a lot for a guy in the position he’s in.
Balancing that appropriately works. What's even more effective is just having a voting base that doesn't care if you remove dissenters from caucus, or even as candidates.
That's the point Angry Kory makes - lotsa Conservative parties, and people voting for lots of the provincially-flavoured ones, but not so many for the nationally-flavoured one.
