LSVW C8 Decal

There is a C8 decal on the hood of all the lsvw's i have seen.  I assume it has something to do with its MLC but I'm not sure.  Can anyone sort me out?

Bridge Weight classification.

Means it must cross at a bridge that has that rating or higher...

Means it's suitable as a target on the C-8 range.
