So I'm an Arty guy and have been for about a year now...I'm BMQ and SQ and Driver qualified on LS, ML and MILCOTT and I'm considering going military police in the Reg force but I don't really wanna do basic over again...

I know its case by case but but do you they usually let who don't have their trades course but have BMQ and SQ, skip basic (recruit school by-pass) in the reg force? I did my BMQ/SQ in summer of 2005...

Any advice would help...

Thanks

If you have completed more than 56 days of Class B employment than you will be considered RSBP.

If you sign a Class B contract to go away for a full time BMQ in the summer than yea. If you do a weekend BMQ run during the year that'll be class A.

If you sign a pay sheet everyday you work, thats Class A. If you sign a contract, you don't sign a pay sheet everyday, thats Class B.

If you want to go MP it's an OT and not avail from civie street....unless things have changed.

Regards

I am just waiting for my offer to come in for the Regs, I have more than 56 days Class B, so will I just skip BMQ or will I skip SQ as well?

Occupational Transfer.....you can only get into trade by already being in the Regs.

Like I said I think that's the only way to become an MP....same as an Int Op.

Regards

I came through Reg Force BMQ 4 years ago, and there were 6 MP's on my course, in addition to the aptitude test and the rest of the nauseum at the recruting centre, they had also done aditional testing before being accepted to the trade. . Promoted to CPL right off the graduation in ST. Jean.

When you had your interview did you ask the officer about it?

Might have to wait untill the offer comes in an see what qualifications they are letting you keep in the Regs.

Well he is in the reserves and wants to be a MP so he will have to CT not OT and you can entry the MP trade directly off the street.  But you are correct the only way to enter those trades if you are already in the Regs is to OT. Cheers.

Im almost in the same boat as tanner, im reserve infantry right now and am looking at joining reg force infantry within the next 2 years. What would i need aside from BMQ,SQ, and DP1?

What do you need for what? To transfer?  Once you have BMQ completed, you can start your transfer. If you complete BMQ,SQ and BIQ before your transfer into the Regs you will most likely have to redo BIQ once you get into the Regs(99% sure of this). Not sure about SQ.

in order to avoid redoing BMQ, what would i need to do....is there a certain amount of time in i need?

RSBP= Recruit School By Pass

I know going MP from reserves or the street you need a police foundations diploma (which I will have in 2 months) but basically all I needed to know was how long I had to be in to skip Reg Force basic...I did BMQ/SQ in the summer Class B...I also did Stalwart guardian for 10 days last year but I don't know if that is considered Class B?

Your question has been answered now go to your unit orderly room and ask them for a copy of your 1007 and count the number of Class B days on the sheet or even better yet ask a clerk that works in your unit orderly room how many Class B days you have.
