I have searched around a bit but, couldn't find what I was looking for.
I am have finished the PCP portion of my fire/medic training which finishes at the end of June. I am looking for a unique and challenging experience. I am interested in the joining the reserves as a Med Tech. I will stop in at a recruitment office when I have completed the course but, I figured a little info from people that are already in the trade wouldn't hurt.
Here are some of the question I have so far;
Joining the reserves requires a minimum 2 year requirement? What if I want to leave before said date?
What additional training is supplied by the army?
I would like to be deployed; would I be working in a hospital or would I expect to be on foot?
How does it work if I wanted to join UN or NATO?
If you are deployed, what are there options for length of deployment?
I do not expect much for pay but, am curious to what you would get in the reserves and deployment.
Do you guys enjoy the way it is ran and what you do?
What types of benefits do you get?
Thank you,
Garett
