Hi. I was born with a kidney malformation which is not uncommon in today's world and a very easy fix with no consequences afterwards, however, it took a long time for it to be detected in my case and has cause some damage due to kidney infections. The problem has been fixed but I have 1 kidney that works at 25% and the other at 75%. I am not followed by a doctor, I have no medication to take and absolutely no restrictions at all and never had a problem again with my kidneys since I was very little. I heard that having just 1 kidney can prevent you from being accepted in the cf because if that 1 kidney quits then you are in trouble and if on deployment or out in the field it could lead to very serious problems quick due to lack of medical support. I was wondering if it would also apply to my case? I have seen a specialist a few years ago and he cleared me 100% to join the cf but would that be enough for the MO?

Than you, I have been looking around but couldn't find much on a similar situation. I know that only the MO can answer definitively but from what I gather from it is that if you don't need medical attention and it doesn't stop you from deploying then the chances are pretty good.

This is an internet forum.

We can't give advice about medical problems. None that you should take from anonymous people anyway.

Go talk to a Recruiter. It's the best place to start.
