Major General Matthew John Holmes, CBE, DSO (29 June 1967 – 2 October 2021) was a British senior Royal Marines officer who served for more than three decades in the armed forces. After studying economics at the University of Exeter, he joined the Royal Marines and undertook early tours of duty to Norway, the Far East, Northern Ireland and Zimbabwe. After being deployed to Kosovo and Afghanistan, he commanded 42 Commando Royal Marines from 2006 to 2008 and was awarded a Distinguished Service Order for his leadership in Afghanistan. Holmes served as Commandant General Royal Marines from 2019 to 2021.

One of my staff is getting married and everyone else was asked to share a clip of their ‘favourite wedding movie’.

I shared the Dr. FNF and Rocky wedding scene.

Needless to say they won’t be asking me to do that again ;)
I think it may be one of my favorite wedding scenes.
But then I hang with a crowd that put on a variety of SF/Fantasy conventions .
And at OUR Weddings and others social events including memorial services ( one at least)

There used to be this old rundown and fairly sleazy theatre on Main Street. Where it used to play every Saturday night .
 
Not a clue what thread to post this in...but I think it'll do everybody's mental health some good to read more stories like these
