Hi there! So as a DP1 mse op reservist you get your certification that’s equivalent to an AZ in Ontario (tractor trailers and air brake)?

You would get your class 3 equivalent with air brakes. Usually you get qual’d on Milcot, MSVS, and things like trailer, material handling crane and TDG, class 1 and trailer would come later and possibly done through your home base. As to what Aper said, when I was on course, we had 2 guys who had class 1 with air brakes and one was a long haul driver for years and they wouldn’t PLAR the course for him, So the course was relatively easy for him. But you still need to learn hides/harbours, blackout driving and DP’s which is probably why it wasn’t PLAR’d

Thanks very much that helps a lot.. I’m a crane operator as a civilian and im out of work which is why i started this process (besides my desire to serve) and im hopeful that the training will eventually get me a class1 equivalent so if im out of work again with my civilian life i can drive truck ,
