EDIT: I just found what I was looking for, on this site even! Sorry if you wasted your time clicking here  :-\

Just a quick question folks:
What are the specs for MOLLE/PALS webbing? The one place I found said it's 1 inch webbing stitched at 1 inch intervals, the strips spaced 1 inch apart. Now, I don't have any MOLLE or PALS gear (yet!) but from the pics it looks like the stitching (the bar-tacking) is farther apart than that, possibly even up 1.5 inches. Can anyone verify this?

If anyone's wondering the reason is because I'd like to sew some webbing onto my MEC Adventurer pack, so that I can attach some modular stuff to it.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Pinky.

PALS webbing is a row of 1" webbing spaced 1" apart from the next webbing row.
Bartacks are done every 1.5" along the webbing, but you should allow yourself about 2" on the sections that are next to edges and seams.

Good luck and I'm interested to see how the finished product comes out.

Thanks a lot for the info Matt, I'll be sure to post pics once it's done. Now to find a good length of mil-spec 1-inch webbing...

In case you haven't seen this, the Lightfighter forum has an entire sub-board dedicated to 'Roll Your Own' aka making your own tactical kit

Definitely worth checking out.

I just found it yesterday actually. Some awesome tips there, and ideas for things I'd never even think of *thumbs up*
