Statement from the family of Corporal Michael Barnewall
November 22, 2006

We are concerned about Michael's injuries.  However, we are relieved that they are non-life threatening.  We look forward to his safe arrival home, so we can be together as a family again.

We ask that the media respect our wishes for privacy and that they understand that we will not be responding to requests for comments or interviews at this time.

Cpl. Barnewall was injured in a mine-strike on November 21 while conducting operations along Route Summit in the Pashmul area, approximately 25 km West of Kandahar.
