Interesting post from Noah. Here's his table on the future potential fleet as currently being discussed.

CDC: Continental Defence Corvette
CPS: Subs
Polar AAS: Polar Amphib Assault Ship

There is also a ton of discussion on uncrewed systems. I think its time for a CDC thread. We're way past MCDV replacement at this point.
Let’s say those numbers bear out.
Can you see the need for a 3rd operational RCN facility besides Halifax and Esquimalt?

How about making two separate smaller bases just for the new submarines maybe Prince Rupert BC and St. John's NFLD.

AOPS is fundamentally built as a non-combatant vessel and no amount of retrofitting or redesigning of the ship can effectively change that. It is an exceptionally large design with big spaces, wide open corridors and a lot of empty space for non-combatant roles. It's slow and lumbering with no real room to retrofit any of the required radar, weaponry and other equipment to be a combatant. It's basically like trying to transform a pickup truck into a main battle tank, total lost cause.

There is area's for more jetty space in Esquimalt but not to much. It would be a major undertaking to dredge (actually dredge and blast) the harbour.

As discussed before (in various threads), Halifax has the space in the harbour for some of this, but also has Shearwater and Dockyard Annex. Those last two would require a significant infrastructure investment.

Another option is using the CCG jetties in Saanich on the west coast and Halifax on the east coast.

With the Coast Guard, Oil and Gas industry, commerce and large commercial fisheries, St. John's is getting pretty congested.

I would suggest redeveloping Argentia. Other possibilities include Louisbourg or Sydney

I used to live on Base in Shearwater near the Jetty and once saw three US nuke submarines docked there so yes plenty of room to move the subs there. Just need to move the sailing club out to make more room.

I wonder how much would need to be done to Argentia in Newfoundland, Its a busy port in a somewhat sheltered part of the Gulf osf St Lawrence and the Yanks of WW 2 picked it for a reason.Submarines, the Coast Guard AOPS and some Corvettes?
Call it the North Atlantic Squadron. I hear a tune somewhere.
