The Rivers were to replace all the capabilities inherent in the tribals and frigates. 9 is the minimum be able to retire the frigates.

After that either keep building Rivers or switch to a new class. We're 10 years away from even having that conversation.

Our needs are previously defined. Thats the context im asking in. If needs are changed by the next policy in the fall, sure, readjust. But Im asking in what stands vis a vis ONSAF.

Naval warfare is in flux right now, trying to digest and determine the impact and the solutions for the impact of aerial and surface drones. Sort of like the introduction of torpedo boats and aircraft did. I don't think any navy has successfully grappled with the change in the Littoral fight that has happened.

Length is a bit longer (2ish meters) and beam was about 0.5m wider.
