It's not a bad ad, but personally I thought the "Fight" campaign was one of the best ad campaigns for the CF.  When I was in Nav School, the international students commented on how good it was (compared to their own countries' ads).  It was short, to the point and well-shot.

The only "issue" I'd have is that it's over 3 mins long.  What TV channel has over 3 mins of commercial time dedicated to one ad?

Probably not aimed at television, but intended to appeal to the "YouTube" generation. (Which begs the question, how many of them can muster a 3-minute attention span?  >:D )

They've got all the high-speed, LCF stuff in there; it also seemed that there was quite a bit of emphasis on medical-related ops -- not just the hospital scenes, but even when showing helos/vehicles they were often doing Medivacs.

I give it a 7.8/10  ;)

I did notice quite a few school bus-coloured flying things...

Which, when tied in with the medical/aid delivery, suggests the message is counter to "Fight" -- we're good samaritans.

Or perhaps, "Afghanistan showed we can fight; we're more than that"

:dunno:

I noticed that they used a really old shot of RMC cadets in the library. The students were still wearing the "battledress" pattern jacket.

I think that have that covered with the "learn about your trade/classification in less than a minute" videos that have been uploaded as well.

Not unreasonable.  After all, Canada's web page for Afghanistan hasn't mentioned much about troops much since Canada Day.

I like it!  I like the broad view it gives of many different disciplines.  The spot isn't just stirring emotions (don't get me wrong, "fight" is a great add! but very heartstringy) but showing the broad and varied activities within CF that will fill most of peoples time.  Logistics, maintenance, lab work, sports, so on and so forth as opposed to an "action and adventure!" pitch.
Very good stuff!
