pathfinders?

what the **** are pathfinders?, i just herd of them from my supply seargent that we have a spec. ops. unit called "pathfinders" i cant find any other info on the web about them so i was hoping that some of you can give me more info on them.

I will answer this question in hopes you do a little more research and use your own initiative next time. Pathfinders are Highly trained specialist Infantry soldiers, who are the forward elements for airmobile/airborne insertions. They conduct the recce up to the DZ/LZ (Drop Zone/Landing Zone), setup the DZ/LZ and provide intel for the follow on forces. They can be inserted into an area via HALO/HAHO freefall techniques or via offshore littoral insertion by ship or submarine. They may also conduct recces, raids, or other ops as determined by thier chain of command. And yes it is a very very very difficult course, requiring incredible fitness, various military courses, and other abilities that most people let alone JTF-2, sniper, ninja wannabes like yourself will never possess. If any one knows if I have missed anything, please feel free to add.

Ooops one little thing that wannabe said that confirms his status. We don‘t have "Supply Sgts." in the Infantry, just CQMS/RQMS

I think what we need on the forum is a "Basic skills" module for new members to go through before they are allowed to actually talk to anyone else here.
