PM Headed to Wainwright

Highlights:

You are soldiers.  Citizens.  Leaders.

Leaders don’t sit in the bleachers.

Leaders don’t carp from the sidelines.

Leaders don’t cut and run at the first sign of trouble.

Leaders stand for values.

Leaders see the mission through.

Leaders succeed - as our Canadian military always has and, as the carriers of that legacy, so will you."

Great words, and a commendable appearance in direct support of the CF.  Too bad that the very same soldiers the PM was addressing have just had their 3 PPCLI TF 2-07 tasking cancelled due to a lack of Army sustainability.  The words ring a tad hollow in that respect.....

Just say'in.

OK: Here's the Loop:----->O
And here's me---------------------------------------------------->*

Notice that I am not in the loop?
Does this mean that the whole army readiness management thingy is scrapped?

Just a quick aside to shed some light on the difference in attitude towards the CF from the Conservatives versus the Libs.

On return from Afghan in 2002, our plane was held up on return to Winnipeg in order for PM Chretien to get on the ground to meet us. A quick handshake and off to wherever for him. Contrast that to Armed Forces Night at the Ottawa Senators game last month. Both the PM and CDS, when noticing my capbadge came up and PERSONALLY told me how sorry they were for the losses our regiment had just taken in Afghanistan.

And people wonder why members of the Forces feel good about this government compared to the last!

No need to wonder is there...this PM has done more in a few short months, than the Liberals did in 12...hmmmm bang for the buck do you think.
The support Stephen Harper is showing for the CF is fantastic...dare we compare  :salute:

You can't compare SH with PM or JC.  It's like trying to compare a, I dunno, something good with something wishy-washy ;D
But it's not just about the military.  His overall work with the other parties in the House seems to have an effect on all, less the liberals.  They recently approached the NDP to form a "coalition of the left".  Jack told them to pound salt.  He realises that the Liberals aren't left and for me personally, I have a lot of new-found respect for JL.  I would never vote NDP, but as a person, for the most part, he's seems fairly level headed.  As for his policies....don't get me started! >:(
SH is doing a fine job, and I just finished listening to Maritime Morning (A talk radio show in, well, the Maritimes!) and a discussion point is "Will SH end up being one of our greatest PMs?".  And this is from the Maritimes, where until recently he wasn't very popular at all.  Anyway, back on target, Red Leader.....

Garvin out

Well yes...I do agree Stephen Harper is doing great things aside from the CF...
Personally I can not stomach Jack Layton...he was at my place of work during the campaign...but that is another story  >:(
