When you look at the lengths judges in BC go to keep abusers and murders of indigenous women out of jail you'd almost think they want to finish what the residential schools started.

UC operations do not do things for no reason. There is policy on searching prisoners- especially to that level. And there are concerns in murder investigations that you can’t just take a pinky promise that they’ll change and give you their clothing.

This is another, on the face of it, troubling ruling from BC that pumps them out at a regular basis. Always with a common theme. We ll see what happens I guess

I'm not sure if the incident you're referring to is the same but back in 1998 or 1999 (pretty sure 98) there was an armored reservist in the shacks who mixed ammonia and bleach to clean the floors and ended up sending a few people to the hospital.

Yep, although the way I heard it, it was more the whole course that was blamed for it.

Inappropriate remarks aside, deliberately performing a DT technique incorrectly during training has injured a number of officers. I missed out on an upcoming course a few years back due to an officer injuring me during a recertification session. The officer rightfully failed.

I have a feeling a lot of these officers are just lacking a healthy, loving sexual relationship.

It's ok to be kinky, but keep it in your private life FFS.

Association president Andrew Tummonds said he supports the findings of the investigation, but he said he's spoken with members who were present during the incident who felt "there was no need for any discipline whatsoever."

If they don’t see a reason for any discipline than they have a bigger problem.

Just using a word isn’t enough reason for discipline in my opinion, the context it was used in matters.

Was other people using it but he was the only white officer to do so? Was it being used as a example of a racialized term? Was it being directed at someone?

Lots of information missing other than the word was used. That information matters. Those who were present have more information on the context than you or me.
