In this instance NATO as a collective (as well as individual European member states) have AEWACC and individual members have AD Radar Nets and AD systems, as well as Alert Aircraft dedicated for NATO and domestic patrol.

Militarily the kill chain was shortened.
Politically there is now the willingness to use the Kill Chain.
